There are two types of humans; those who love cold weather and those that absolutely do not. Some of us will revel in the snow, having snowball fights and building whole families out of the white stuff. Others however will stay as far away from the cold as possible, wrapping up warm and staying inside so that they do not have to face cold dark days and even colder nights.

Teaching jobs abroad could be the answer to the prayers of everyone who wishes they could live in exotic climates during Britain’s winter and still be earning money instead of wasting it on a three month holiday.

You do not have to be a qualified teacher to be able to teach English to speakers of other languages whether you choose to do this at home or n a foreign country. You just need to have taken and passed a TEFL or TESOL course by completing a number of hours teaching in a classroom and passing some exams and coursework. Then you have the freedom to apply for TEFL jobs around the globe.

China, South America and The Caribbean are among the most popular locations for TEFL teachers to visit as they are hot when it is cold back home. Africa is a country that needs more and more English teachers too.

These countries have a different way of life than Britain and so it can feel like you are on holiday when you go to work as an English teacher. You do however have to work hard at proving your ability and passion otherwise you could find yourself on a plane home.

Every country offers a different experience for foreign language teachers. You might have a job where there are small class sizes and few teaching hours so that you can relax for more time than you are teaching. Some countries are much stricter however with longer teaching hours. Your pupils will be tested to see whether you have taught them well and standards are high.

There are many opportunities for you to make working away for part of the year an annual thing so long as you can find a career at home that will support your plan back at home. For career people this might be hard as there are few employers who will let their staff take three months of time off every year.
